On Saturday 9th September we are hosting a Doors Open Day event between 10am and 3pm.
Part of this will include a tour starting at SSE’s Corporate Archive (beside the Power Station) featuring the famous Fish Ladder and cross the dam ending at the Visitor Centre.
Places are limited and should be booked in advance. There will be 3 tours starting at 10am, 11am and 12pm. Please note that there are stairs involved in crossing the dam therefore the main part of this tour is not suitable for those with restricted mobility.
The Corporate Archive will be open from 9.30am to 1pm so visitors can freely browse some of the collection that will be out on display.
We are also delighted to be hosting local author Elizabeth Wein as she talks about her latest novel, ‘The Pearl Thief’, in which a fictional Perthshire setting features the central role of water, the River Tay and river Pearls.
The talk will be held downstairs in the Visitor Centre at 2pm. There will also be a Q&A and book signing afterwards. (Suitable for ages 9 years +).
Places are limited so booking is advised. On the day please be registered at the centre and seated by 1.50pm.
